Tuesday in the Catskills

It was a great day on the slopes. This weekend was filled with rain and nasty weather and I was a little nervous to head out to the slopes. But the weather did not affect Windham’s conditions.  The snow was groomed to perfection today with fresh corduroy on each trail.  Where there wasn’t fresh corduroy, snowmaking was happening.  Snowguns were laying down piles of fresh snow…perfect to ski in.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the air was crisp.  With 33 trails open there was plenty of skiing to do. I did not want to get off the slopes today, the skiing was just too good.

I got to explore the East Peak of Windham. I had never been on that side of the mountain. Exploring new parts of a mountain is always thrilling.  I loved skiing down the trail Why Not. For those who like the steeps like I do, try it out, the snow was fast, quick and smooth. Perfect for racers or old racers like myself.

This winter Windham got new RFID lift access technology. Which made loading the lift quick and easy. I couldn’t wait to try it out this season. With RFID all you do is put your pass in a pocket on your left side and go through the gates for the lift.  The card is read and you are good to go. I think the RFID technology is awesome and saves a lot of time for the skier.

With no lift lines and a few ski bums on the mountain, I couldn’t have asked for a better day of skiing. Thanks for a great day on the slopes Windham. I can’t wait to come back!

Ski ya on the slopes,
